Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Edward J. Kell, 94, of 801 N. Hazel, died at 2:55 pm Friday (Aug. 13, 1971) at the Vermilion Nursing Home where he had been a patient the last few months. Born Sept. 6, 1876, in Indiana, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kell. Mr. Kell retired from the C&EI Railroad several years ago. He was a 50-year member of Olive Branch Masonic Lodge and a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Walter of Williamsport, Ind., and Marvin of Hoopeston; and a daughter, Mrs. Rita Snyder of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva May, who died this past January; a son and a daughter. Services will be at 10 am Monday at Barrick & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. William Stotts officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic service will be conducted by Olive Branch Lodge at 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
